WOOD AND PARQUET
It seems that 'parquet' was the name given to the room where the meetings of the King of France, Louis XIV, were held with his ministers. The association of the term 'parquet' with wooden floors originated in the King of France's room because the floor was made of wood, and over time, the name of the room became the term for indicating a floor with a covering made of long wooden strips. However, wooden flooring is perhaps the oldest among the floors used by humans; it is also mentioned in the Old Testament and was certainly in use in imperial Rome. Over time, increasingly refined, elegant, and elaborate wooden floors have enriched residences and the most exclusive environments.
As for us, along with the creation of new flooring, we also deal with the recovery and modification, or restoration, of existing flooring. Flooring that may require not only a new finish but also modifications and additions, consolidations, color corrections, adaptations, etc.
We handle not only painted finishes but also traditional treatments with oil and wax impregnation. In short, each floor is unique and must be treated taking into account its history, degree of preservation, and the client's expectations.
